What a Weekend!

Mon Feb 26, 2007, 8:28 PM
  • Mood: Joy
Wow! This weekend I had only two things planned, but only one of the them ended up happening, plus a lot more besides. The things I had planned were to go to Sweet Tomato for lunch with my roommate Bladestone on Saturday after working 4 hours of overtime and to take froggytinker out to The Melting Pot for dinner on Sunday. (She's the cute girl I've been seeing.)
Well, it turns on that on Friday I got a call from Cyberstorm Alpha and Yuriatayde saying they were going to be able to come to KC to visit me. FINALLY! I met them at MFF and they finally came to visit. The arrived Saturday evening around 4 or 5 or so, and ended up losing phone signal so they went too far North on I29. Bladestone and I were on our way back from Sweet Tomato (if you haven't tried it, it's a MUST) and finally heard from them again. We met at an exit so they could follow us home. It was SO AWESOME to see them again.
Also, darkthorn and I were supposed to get together this weekend, so Bladestone and Cyber attempted to pick him up at the movie theatre right near my house. They looked around and walked back and forth, but didn't find him. However, Darkthon found THEM, and called to them, but they were too busy talking about computer geek stuff, they didn't hear him. SO, they came back home and yuriatayde and I went to pick him up. We found him right away, and we didn't even have to get out of the car to do it.
I had mentioned These two friends of mine to Gecko, and he wanted to meet them. I let him know they were visiting. So, he and SpiritWolfe came over to say HI and brought 3 more people with them so Bladestone and I were hosting an unexpected, impromptu party. I guess 6 guests for a total of 9 people constitutes a party.
Cyber made a gargantuous bactch of his awesome spaghetti for dinner after going to the store to pick some stuff up, we played video games, talked and had a good time. We also looked at a bunch of funny and still stuff that Yuriatayde had on a jump drive (including pron) and all of that was a BIG hit.
The three friends Gecko and SpiritWolfe brought with them (I don't remember their names, and I hadn't met them before) left later on, but the two of them stayed. It turned out that Cyber and Gecko knew each other from a Japanese class taken a few years ago, and SpiritWolfe recongnized him as well. So, they had some old times to catch up on.
Gecko stayed until later in the afternoon since he had to go to KU to watch a required recital. He also wasn't feeling well. Cyber was kind enough to drive him to his car. SpiritWolfe had forgotten his wallet, so he came back and ended up staying a second night with everyone else.
Bladestone and I were down to 3 guests and the two of us, and we decided to go out to dinner (yes, it was MY idea, of course). Nobody had money but Cyber and I so we treated the group to Sushi and other Japanese food at Kato's. GOOD AS ALWAYS ($100 each later that the two of us spent).
They all left at about 5 or so this morning to get SpiritWolfe to the bus he drives on time, and so Cyber and yuriatayde could get home. (They live about 2 hours away.) So, back to work for those of us who are employed (yuriatayde makes a living as a pet - ok gets room and board.)
It is STILL amazing to me how we furries completely accept one another. Strangers hugging hello and hitting it off IMMEDIATELY. (Bladestone had never met these two even though he was also at MFF.) I think if everyone in the world was a furry the world would be a better place. However, then we furries wouldn't be special. Hmmmm... Maybe we furries should just make our own little world. Again, my idea of an all-fur apartment building would be great!
The only disappointing this is that froggytinker never called to let me know she was ready to go out... :(
